These will boost your mining yield about as high as it'll go in a retriever. The upgrade from retriever to Mackinaw takes awhile as you need Mining Barge V and Astrogeology V along with the Exhumers skill. (Unless they changed the requirement, correct me if I'm wrong). Since those two skills draw on very different attributes, chances are that one of them is going to take you even longer.
Other, indirect, methods for improving your ISK would be to get yourself perfect refining and trade skills.
Raw ore typically sells for *about* 10% less than the mineral value it refines into (at least it did in more stable markets, with mineral prices flying all over the place these days, that margin might be larger or smaller). Doing your own perfect refining will help you keep profits...
Trade skills, especially Broker Relations and Accounting, help reduce taxes and fees related to sell orders (you ARE using sell orders, right?)
I was planning on just docking up..Right clicking and selling haha :o
Sorry but could you explain a little about sell orders? New to the market. |

Check the prices regularly. They shift as people use different ores.
The isk/m3 is what's important. You'll often see people, in belts, mining Omber. These people are what is known as ignorant. Omber is worth significantly less than more plentiful ore.
So should I ignore the "price" part? Such as Veld sells for "16" in rens, I presume thats 16 per ore? isn't that pretty good? |

I have a nice bunch of movies to watch so s'all good. And I have problems finding a pvp corp that actually goes out and gets kills and ISK.. Mining is my only option right now.

With mining I can just tab out this bit made me laugh, you got bored of missioning so thought hey what else is there in eve that requires less input from me than this and wont bore me after a while? I KNOWZZZZ!!! MINING!!!!
Thus I can tab out and do something more fun, I can't do that with missions, can I? |

Not really. I'm doing it so I can make money to actually enjoy the game. |

Doing missions over and over again isn't what I'd call fun. I can't afford any of the PVP ***** I'd like to fly. And I didn't say billions did I? |
